Biostatistics@UHN is pleased to offer a series of introduction to biostatistics virtual rounds for the 2023-2024 academic year. Each round will be led by one of our biostatisticians and will feature a Q&A session at the end. Rounds will occur virtually over Microsoft Teams every 3-4 Fridays at 11am.

Recordings and resources related to the rounds can be found on the Biostatistics@UHN Sharepoint page.

Rounds are free to attend. Registration is required.

Introduction to Regression Modelling

Overview of regression models, including an introduction to the regression equation, discussion of different types of models, and guidelines for selecting the model most appropriate for your research question.

Friday, April 5, 2023 @ 11am

Multivariable Regression Modelling

Introduction to multiple regression, including an exploration of the fundamentals and common uses. Interpretation of multiple regression results and introduction to confounding and interactions will be discussed.

Friday May 10, 2024 @ 11am

Reporting Results: Tables

When large amounts of data are present, it’s important to present the data as concisely and accurately as possible. In this talk, we will outline best practices for summarizing data for reporting, and provide examples of poor practice.

Friday May 31, 2024 @ 11am

Reporting Results: Figures

Best practices for data visualization for publication, including discussion on types of figures best suited for different types of data, and examples of poor data visualization.

Friday June 21, 2024 @ 11am
